Context

The quaint wine shop “Oltrepo Pavese” in Sigulda stands as a rare gem among family-owned businesses, specializing in the sale of authentic Italian wines. Crafting its website marked one of my early ventures into web design and SEO learning.

Objective

Discussions with the owner were straightforward. “I’d be delighted to create a website for your store.” – “Sounds good!” I outlined the primary functions of the website, focusing on presenting the shop. Later, the client provided a catalog of wines sold in the store which was to be included on the upcoming website.

Outcome

I will be honest – I am quite proud of the result. I took photographs of the shop’s interior and composed texts after interviewing the owner. Given my limited experience at the time, the website turned out to be elegant, and concise, with a distinct Italian touch. The site’s SEO also performed well – a search for “wine Sigulda” ranked “Oltrepo Pavese” at the top, surpassing other local vineyards and chain stores in the region.
